Typst Desktop

Typst Desktop is a companion app for Linux that keeps your documents as ordinary files on your computer and syncs them with TypstDrive.

What it does

  • Write Typst offline, with a live preview and the same kind of editor as the web app.
  • Browse your TypstDrive folders, documents and projects, including things shared with you.
  • Download the ones you want onto your computer and keep them in sync.
  • Edit together with others live when you are online, with comments, suggestions and version history.
  • Resolve conflicts when the same file changed in two places.
  • Folder colors you choose in TypstDrive show in the app, and the other way around.

Connecting the app

  1. In Typst Desktop, open Settings and enter the address of your TypstDrive server.
  2. Choose Sign in. Your browser opens TypstDrive.
  3. Sign in as usual. TypstDrive shows a one-time key.
  4. Paste the key into the app.

The app now shows your account picture and your TypstDrive files.

Managing devices

Every connected app is listed in Settings → Devices in TypstDrive, with whether it is online. Revoke a device to sign it out straight away, for example if a laptop is lost.

Installing

Download a package for Debian, Ubuntu, Fedora, Arch or an AppImage from the Typst Desktop releases.

Typst Desktop is also a community project and is not affiliated with the official Typst project.
